TOWER
Abstract
A distinct environment centered around a babylonian-inspired
tower on a secluded island.
The abandoned state of the island's structures coupled with
the dusk sun create a dense and unnerving atmosphere.
Drawing parallels to Dante's Mount Purgatorio, the tower
once harbored a society in ignorant pursuit of divinity,
which is reflected by stone reliefs and the overgrown
temple on top.

Process
The initial visual development resulted in a striking obelisk-like silhouette, which
we as a team wanted to depict in a deteriorated and dystopian shape. The looming presence
of the ancient tower evoked feelings of a rich legacy, which we sought to support with
a short story:
Originally built as a monument to the sun, the structure served as housing and city
for a people led by deluded noble rulers. With its interior sections corresponding to
the different ranks of their society, those too unfortunate to be permitted entry had to
resort to a life on the rocky lower banks of the island.
Conversely, the light-flooded temple up top is enveloped by a plethora of lush
vegetation and exudes a sense of luxury and sanctity.
